Elvis Costello and The Attractions (“Radio, Radio”)

The band’s famous performance on SNL that got him banned from the show. I remember watching it live, so excited to see the band on SNL. He was made to promise not to play “Radio, Radio,” so started off with “Less Than Zero.” A few measures in, he dumped it and went for “Radio, Radio.” Total rebellious move at that time. Very awesome!

Watch that live performance here (not on YouTube for some reason…. hmmmmm….):

Glad to see you are sharing memories/snippets and clips of 80s greatness again. I wonder if you like non-80s greatness? Anyway, keep them coming! 😀

Thanks for your comment! Of course I like non-80s music also, but this is the music I grew up with and I wanted to sort of log the fact that the 80s did NOT suck, contrary to current popular opinion.

Yes! You’ll notice that I have several 70s tunes in this blog! Punk was born in the 70s, so of course this blog has “non-80s greatness” 🙂
