Dead Kennedys (“California Über Alles”)
Just listened to this song. The fruit is still as fresh, and the vegetables are still as rotting, as when this album debuted in my high-school days! Punk is definitely not dead…

Pure raw pre-punk of Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers… Have been a fan forever!
One of my favorite songs (and bands) when I was in high school, and I LOVED the Mabuhay, what a venue for so many great shows of the early punk days!
Such a great band, such great concerts back in the 80s!!!
Blondie at CBGB in 1975! Stunning! I saw her a few years later in San Francisco, still amazing…
No words… The beginning of the scene…
German punkish-pop from 1983 that invaded the radio stations of the day (with a different English spin on the lyrics). Definitely fits in to the “no future” motto of the first generation punk, and with all the pop of the Ramones.
In spite of its ridiculously short lifespan, “Fridays” was so much edgier than SNL! I remember with great nostalgia this performance on that great show!
This song was an instant hit when it came out! I remember seeing CVB play at the intimate Berkeley Square in the 80s, opening act was Descendents!!! WHAT A SHOW!
Performed last Saturday night at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn. What an amazing cover!!! Pure nostalgia… and tribute!
